Patient Experience Gets a Lyft

UMMS has joined other leading health care institutions around the country in launching a service to provide curb-to-curb transportation for patients across the System. The new UMMS partnership with Lyft will allow authorized team members to quickly schedule reliable transportation for non-emergency patients. Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) – An Employee’s Story

Sometimes, a small change can make all the difference in the world. Nurses across the System have refocused how they approach shift change and developed a process that will result in more informed staff, more engaged patients and, ultimately, improved quality and safety of care. The new process was implemented at UM BWMC in fall 2019 and continues to rollout across all System hospitals.

UMMS is expanding its best-in-class Human Resources and Payroll system to deliver more benefits across the University of Maryland Medical System. Lawson, the software currently in use for Human Resources and Payroll, will now also be used to manage our Financial and Supply Chain Management services, further connecting our business processes across the System.

The UMMS Clinical Quality Value Analysis Program was launched in July 2019, and is standardizing how we determine the most cost-effective use of products, goods and services across the System. The Program allows UMMS to maintain and improve the total quality and delivery of safe patient care in our ever-changing health care landscape.
