One UMMS Staffing Center Offering New Incentive Programs

The OUSC will offer new incentive programs beginning November 7, 2021, for registered nurses and respiratory therapists in the One UMMS Staffing Center working in clinical/bedside roles at UMMS member organizations. The programs require participating team members to commit to either an 8-week, 12-week or 16-week program inclusive of day, night, weekend, holiday and other hard-to-fill shifts. Program participants will continue to rotate between at least three member organizations, be paid a competitive hourly rate and receive a monetary bonus at the successful completion of the program. While some specialty outsourcing may continue to be managed by individual member organizations or departments, Staffing Center leadership anticipates that by spring 2022, the OUSC will begin managing most nursing contract labor for member organizations.

UMMS established a Staffing Center to field staffing requests, screen applicants and interview candidates. Assignments are coordinated with member organizations based on need and the experience of the staff being deployed. Managers will interview and select hires for contract labor. Additionally, managers will work alongside OUSC staff to select team members for long-term assignments.
